Diageo appoints Segun Ogunleye as head of marketing Africa

Diageo has appointed Segan Ogunleye as Head of Marketing, Africa partner markets, as well as Guinness Beer lead for South, West, and Central Africa. In his new position, Ogunleye will work with an exceptional team to drive growth and create unforgettable brand experiences.

Ogunleye is a strategic integrated marketing communication professional with over 17 years of experience managing global fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) brands, including PepsiCo and the PepsiCo-Unileer joint venture. Prior to his new appointment at Diageo, he was the General Manager of the 7 Up Bottling Company. He also worked at Cadbury Nigeria PLC as a Communications Assistant and at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology in Zaria as a Special Assistant to the Public Relations Officer.

He was previously the Manager of MullenLowe Lintas Group’s brand and communication strategy, as well as the Leader of the Brand and Communication Unit at UBA Metropolitan. He formerly worked for SmartMark Limited in Ghana and Nigeria as Marketing and Communications Manager.

Ogunleye is a data-driven strategic and passionate marketer with a proven ability to drive growth across consumer industries, effectively managing iconic brands and launching innovative products. He has a demonstrated track record of leading high-profile strategic marketing initiatives, overseeing cross-functional teams, and identifying new growth opportunities that enhance brand presence and market impact.

He is a qualified Brand Manager at Pan-Atlantic University’s School of Media and Communication in Lagos, Nigeria. He also received an advanced certificate in Strategic Management, Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communications from the London School of Business and Finance (LSBF). He also completed the Executive Marketing Program at the Business School for the World.
