The Initiative for Peace and Women’s Right in Africa (IPWR-A) has launched an Africa-wide competition designed to inspire young women between the ages of 15 and 20 years to actively participate in the development of their communities. Participants are invited to submit creative works that showcases their contributions towards their community development or propose great ideas and solutions towards their community growth.
The challenge which will culminate in an award ceremony for outstanding applications on October 11th, 2025, provides a good platform to commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child whose theme “My Role in My Community: Girls Leading Change for a Sustainable Future” aligns with the objective of the IPWR-A Challenge.
Speaking to News Agencies in Abuja Nigeria, the Founder of the Organization Mrs. Edidiong Idang praised the volunteers, partners and sponsors who are working behind the scene to ensure that every girl, irrespective of disability, language and geographic location receives a chance to showcase their contributions to their community development.
To achieve inclusivity, the Challenge is open to all applicants in English and French with several sign language interpretations across various African countries. Applicants are expected to submit their entries under the following categories: Essay Writing, Visual Art, and Poetry and visit the organization’s website: www.ipwrafrica.org for more details.
