Stakeholders, friends rally support as Ogunleye assumes office as President Rotary Club Omole-Golden

Prominent Nigerians cut across politics, business and media, on Sunday identified with Rotarian Jide Ogunleye, as he assumed office as the 21st President of the Rotary Club of Omole-Golden, and promised to support him in his desire to take the club to another height during his reign.

The investiture, which was chaired by the Co-Managing Director of Proserv Instrumentation Nigeria Limited, Mr. Olufunsho Lawal, Media Mogul, Chief Dele Momodu, who doubled as father of the day at the event and Dr. Olubayo Adekanmbi, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Data Science Nigeria, was leveraged by the friends and family members of the new President to endorse and express their support for his administration.

As the chairman of the event, Lawal, described Ogunleye as an exceptional leader in all ramifications, worthy to pilot the affairs of the Rotary Club of Omole Garden for the next year and promised to give him all the support needed.

He said, “Jide is an exceptional man, selfless, ever dedicated and always looking for ways to improve lives and make social impacts. I think those are the ideals of the Rotary clubs and he has them in abundance”

Chief Momodu, who was the father of the day at the event said he was always delighted to associate with Rotary Club because of the values the association always adds to humanity. He congratulated members of Omole-Golden for electing a leader like Ogunleye to pilot the affairs of the club at this time of Nigeria history and assured them of his support.

In the same manner, Adekanmbi, who was the guest speaker shared his long years of working relationship with the new president and established the various unique attributes that stood him (Ogunleye) out as a leader and humanitarian.

“Before going into the nitty-gritty of today’s lecture, let me crave the indulgence of this honourable gathering to speak about Jide; the ICT expert and a selfless personality. On a number of times, this patriotic Nigerian has watched my back and helped me attend to personal, but technical issues that are related to his fields unsolicitedly. We have in the new President a man who is always eager to add value and solve problems. I’m not in doubt that the rest one year will be very progressive for the club,” Adekanmbi stated.

In his acceptance speech, Rtn. Oguleye, expressed his deep appreciation to members of the club for the trust and confidence reposed in him and promised to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the club during his reign.

While reeling out his vision for the club in the years ahead, the top ICT expert said he would focus on community impact, collaboration, and leadership development. He also acknowledged the remarkable leadership provided by his predecessors, particularly the outgoing President, Veronica Susan Isijola, and promised to sustain the tempo of excellence as well as setting a high standard for the club.

He said, “To our outgoing President, and all our Past Presidents, your leadership has been a beacon of dedication and excellence. You have navigated us through challenges, celebrated our victories, and laid a foundation upon which we stand proudly today.”

He also took a moment to thank his family for their unwavering support, particularly his spouse, Mayokun, and children, Jaron and Sharon. “My family, my foundation—your love and support are the pillars upon which I stand,” he added.

Reflecting on the profound impact of Rotary’s mission, Ogunleye emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving the club’s goals. Quoting Helen Keller, he said, “‘Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.’ This encapsulates the essence of Rotary and the journey ahead.”

Among others, the new President identified his strategic vision rooted in three key pillars: Strengthening Community Impact, Fostering Collaboration and Inclusivity and Nurturing Growth and Leadership.

Under community impact, the new president vowed to continue addressing pressing community needs through sustainable projects. “Our neonatal project, literacy programs, and health initiatives are just the beginning. We will still expand our reach and deepen our impact, making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.”

He also emphasized the importance of diversity and collective strength, and promised to welcome new ideas and fresh perspectives, adding that with a collective effort, the club would break new ground, innovate, and tackle challenges with renewed vigor.

Highlighting the club’s rich tapestry of talents, he committed to investing in the development and leadership of its members through nurturing of individual’s potential and creation of a powerhouse of skills and passion for members to discover their potentials.

As the first president under the newly formed District 9111, Ogunleye acknowledged the historic significance of his role and pledged to set a precedent for future leaders.
